Engineering Open House 2005 · Since 1920, the doors of the Engineering Campus at the University of Illinois have been thrown open to visitors from all over the country. People who attend these exhibitions come from industry, other universities, and high schools. Even people with no direct relationship with engineering, but who want to learn what makes the world go round attend. To say that the Open House is simply an exhibition is to do a great injustice to those faculty and students whose year-round efforts have made the event so successful. · Let’s make this EOH great! Contact Andrea at asapienz@uiuc.edu or Megan at msmall@uiuc.edu if you want to volunteer or take part in any exhibits ASAP! · If you can’t commit to volunteering Friday or Saturday, just come out to Newmark Lab during EOH sometime and show your support by visiting the exhibits! Engineers aren’t boring people, we just get excited over boring things! –Anon. INTRAMURAL SPORTS!!! WHO? YOU! WHAT? Enjoying friendly competition with your fellow ASCE members! WHEN? Contact Stefano at truschke@uiuc.edu by the dates given if you are interested (and you should be): Broomball or Volleyball - March 11th Soccer - March 25th Softball or Flag Football - April 8th

Shadow an Engineer
*Members of the Month* ♦♦ Congratulations to Tim Dulac and Brian Snook for being March’s Members of the Month! Tim and Brian have been very involved with the Steel Bridge team and have given a lot of their time and hard work to help get the bridge underway! Thanks guys! ♦♦ ***If you want to nominate a fellow member for their hard work and accomplishments in ASCE, just email Pat Johnson at pjjohnso@uiuc.edu with the name of the person and why you think he or she deserves to be recognized in next month’s newsletter.*** How can you tell an extroverted engineer? When he talks to you, he looks at your shoes instead of his own.
